Children of Critical Workers and Vulnerable Children
If you are an employee of one of the critical worker groups, please complete the following form by clicking on the following link:
John Burns Critical Worker Provision Request Form
If you are a critical worker, please confirm your job title and the name of your employer with the school. Places for critical workers are limited and parents need to have an allocated place before their child is able to attend school. Please remember that if you are a critical worker and can keep your child at home, then you should.
If your child is categorised as a vulnerable child, please contact the school for more information.
The Vulnerable Child list is as follows:
- Children with an EHCP Plan
- Children who currently have an assigned Social Worker or who are Looked After by the Local Authority or in Care
Remote Learning Arrangements
Children who will not be returning to school will have home learning provided for them, starting on Tuesday 5th January.
For children in Year 1 upwards their remote learning will be on Google Classroom and each child has their own unique username and password to be able to log on to it.
For children in Nursery and Reception remote learning can be accessed through Seesaw.
It is important that children complete the home learning activities. This ensures that whilst they are not in school, they are still actively engaging in the learning that their teachers have provided for them.
For children completing paper packs, please remember to log in to Google Classroom to watch the pre-recorded video lessons.
If your child is having difficulties with their home learning, please do let us know as soon as possible.
Free School Meal Vouchers
If your child is entitled to receive benefit-related free school meals, you will be provided with vouchers to the value of £15 per child, per week at your chosen supermarket to cover the period of the school closure.
The Local Authority will be arranging vouchers. You should receive a text message from WONDE.
If you have any problems obtaining the vouchers, please contact office@johnburns.wandsworth.sch.uk
Laptop Loan Request Form
We have secured 24 laptops to loan to families to support in accessing home learning.
The laptops will be available for all families, with priority given to families who have been assessed as being in need under section 17 of the Children Act 1989, including children who have a child in need plan, a child protection plan or who are a looked-after-child and families who are entitled to Pupil Premium Funding.
