EYFS – DAVIES Class
Welcome to Davies Class!
My name is Mr Humphreys and I am the Early Years class teacher. Teaching is something I hold dearly to my heart, and I am committed to ensuring that every child receives a high-quality education. I strive to create a learning environment that is inclusive, safe, and supportive, where every child feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential. My goal is to nurture a love for learning while encouraging curiosity, creativity, and collaboration. By fostering a space where all children can thrive, I hope to make a lasting impact on their educational journey and personal growth.
Throughout the year, we will explore interesting topics through our ‘3Ps’ curriculum: Person, Place and Point. Our topic for this term is “Light and Darkness”. During Spring 1, Early Years will focus on the following:
Person: Thomas Edison
Place: The World
Point: Day and Night
This term, our class book for English is The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark by Jill Tomlinson
Let’s Get Ready for School is a picture book designed to help young children, particularly those preparing to start school for the first time, feel more confident and excited about this big step. The book provides a gentle and engaging introduction to what children can expect when they begin school.
